Not long ago Bumble & Bumble decided to expand their Hairdresser's Invisible Oil  line to include a shampoo, conditioner and heat/UV protective primer to the mix. Always willing to give new haircare a go, I popped along to Boots to pick up the Travel Set so that offer up my two cents (or pence!) to you lovely people. Having dry, frizzy and slightly unmanageable hair meant that I was instantly intrigued by the product description;

"...infused with 6 featherlight oils to help soften, silken, tame, de-frizz, detangle and protect."

These are some pretty hefty claims that I simply had to investigate, so here are my findings...

Initial thoughts (after one wash):

Shampoo: Very thick consistency, quite hard to lather up and felt quite striping/dry
Conditioner: Nice enough, again thick consistency but a little didn't go a very long way. Used half the bottle with one wash, could have used more.
Primer: Smelled lovely, helped to detangle

Final opinion:

Shampoo: Really not one for me - like I said it was quite thick and hard to work with, and I found that it did the opposite of what I expected it to - my hair felt particularly stripped afterwards rather than 'nourished'.
Conditioner: Better than the shampoo, but not by much. Again it didn't feel really nourishing or silky, my hair just felt 'alright' after using it rather than detangled or softer.
Primer: The winner of the bunch for me, but still something I'm not willing to splash the cash on in the future. It does detangle and smell really good, as well as *slightly* de-frizzing, but my £3 Dove leave-in-conditioner does the same thing, and might even do it better. I'll definitely continue to use it until it's used up, but it's nothing outstanding in my book.

Have any of you tried this new line? Did it work for you? I'd love to hear what you have to say!

  1. Love the idea of having a first impressions and a final opinion in one post! Anything that claims to 'soften' or 'tame' is an instant no from me. I like my hair to look mildly deranged. Cat lady chic if you will. I'm being dead serious.

  2. I was so excited by this range but most of the reviews I have read about Invisible Oil are not that amazing. This was a great first impressions post! Xx Alexandra

  3. Haha I know exactly what you mean - mine is cat lady by nature so I like to try to tame it occasionally! x
