The sun is finally out, the daffodils have bloomed and the first sniffles of hay fever have arrived, and all of these can only mean one thing - that Spring is finally on its way. Long gone are the moody maroons and the festive reds, it's time to kick your makeup menu into full Spring mode. Get ready to introduce the corals, peaches and pinks back into your life and swap the heavier winter makeup for minimal, lightweight bases and random pops of colour. So without further ado, here are my makeup picks for the upcoming season;

FACE: First things first, we need to get the base right. The new CC Cream from Bourjois is just divine - lightweight and colour correcting with a buildable level of coverage - and my base of choice for the last few weeks. I'd say the finish is semi-matte, but add a bit of illuminator to it and you can go as glowy as your heart desires. Next we have cheeks, and what screams 'Spring!' more than Benefits 'Coralista'? Peachy-coral goodness laced with a golden sheen, this one is truly a winner and looks stunning with a tan. Not a fan of coral? Why not try a cool-toned baby pink to lighten the mood? My personal favourite is a LE blush from MAC called 'Full of Joy', but there are a load of similar shades out there.

LIPS: There's nothing I like better than slapping on a vibrant shade of pink lipstick when the sun is shining. The first lip product is my gorgeous new YSL lipstick, which I can tell will be featured a lot in the next few months. It's a gorgeous creamy fuchsia pink that applies like a dream (see full review here). Then we have one of my favourite lip products ever, an OCC Lip Tar in the very Spring-appropriate shade Trollop. If you haven't tried out a Lip Tar, then you really have to - trust me, they're incredible

EYES: Like I said, I like to keep things nice and simple when springtime comes around. A recent favourite of mine is the Bourjois Colour Edition 24hr Cream Shadow in Petale de Glace, which is a gorgeous frosted rosey-taupe, and one of those products that you can just swipe all over the lid and go. It's just absolute perfection. Another recent favourite and a product that will be great when the temperature starts to rise is the Benefit Gimme Brow. I've already spoken about this here, but basically it's just an amazing, natural looking tinted brow gel that lasts all. damn. day.

So these are some of the products featuring in my current 'spring themed' makeup rotation. Do you have any Spring-y makeup favourites? Let me know in the comment section below :)

*Just before I go, I wanted to refer back to my previous post about learning languages. I've decided to occasionally add random 'foreign' favourites (note to self: must think of a better name) to the end of some of my posts. This week's favourite is the new song from Wisin ft. Jennifer Lopez and Ricky Martin called 'Adrenalina'. If you're learning Spanish or just like Latin music, check it out - it's pretty catchy! Link here.*
