HONG KONG.
Saturday, July 28, 2012
Hey guys,
Unfortunately I have been feeling a little uninspired lately on the blog front. The weather here in Hong Kong has been unbearably hot and humid so I haven't been wearing any 'fashionable' (or blog-worthy) outfits. The same really goes for makeup, the moment you put it on it melts off your face, so I haven't been bothering that much. Good news! I'm going to Australia on Wednesday so I should be able to do some more interesting posts :)
I know a lot of you out there are interested in what Hong Kong is like, so on top of doing a little vlogging - I've complied a few photos that, for me, show HK in its best light :)
In other news, I've set up a Facebook page, so check it out here!
Bourjois Magic 1 Second Nail Polish Remover
Thursday, July 26, 2012
Hey guys,
So I'm sure that you've all heard about this amazing product a million times - so I shall keep this short and sweet ;) However, if for some reason you have been living under a rock for the last few months (it happens to the best of us!) then i'll give you a quick overview.
Bourjois have bought out an amazing product that, to me at least, has revolutionised nail-polish removal. Gone are the days of cotton pads - and boy do I not miss those! Basically, this product is a pot of nail polish remover that you stick your finger into, twist a few times, and ta dah - your nail polish is gone!
On top of the easy removal, this product smells much better than any other nail polish remover. Also, it contains nourishing sweet almond oil which helps to keep your nails and cuticles hydrated.
So whats the verdict?
MY RATING: 5/5
For me this product is an all-round winner! Not only is is easier than conventional removal of nail polish, it smells nicer and helps to keep your nails from drying out. Also, at the bargain price of £4.99, you can't go wrong!
OPI Just Spotted The Lizard
Wednesday, July 25, 2012
Hey guys,
So as you probably already know, this gold-green-khaki-blue foil has probably been the most hyped color of 2011/2012.
As always, Chanel was the first company to release a very similar, if not identical, shade called PERIDOT with their Fall 2011 collection. At that time, I wasn't entirely sure if I would enjoy such a peculiar color on my nails and considering the price tag, I decided to give it a miss.
However, as OPI recently released a similar shade in their Spider Man Collection, I eventually gave in to the duo chrome dreaminess of this polish.
'Just Spotted The Lizard' is an absolutely beautiful, versatile and very unique shade. The glitter is finely milled and therefore creates a gorgeous foil effect on the nails.

So whats the verdict?
MY RATING: 5/5
The formula on this polish is great: two coats and it's completely opaque. As is the nature of pearly/metallic polishes, you do have to be mindful when applying this polish so as to minimize streaks. Surprisingly, I really liked the application of the polish. Normally, I'm not a fan of these kind of metallics because they leave too many brushstrokes, but they really weren't too bad. It's barely noticeable. It actually sort of has a brushed gold look to it. Overall, I definitely recommend Just Spotted the Lizard.
Also, OPI "Just Spotted the Lizard" is said to be the twin of Chanel "Peridot." If you're a big fan of Chanel "Peridot" (Limited Edition) and need a back up/don't want to splash out for it, this shade might be worth picking up. Alternatively, if you don;t want to spend the money on and OPI polish, both Models Own and Topshop do a similar colour :)
Style Outside The Box
Tuesday, July 24, 2012
Hey guys,
Today I want to talk about one of my favourite new websites, styleoutsidethebox.com . It's an amazing website that sells exclusively items made by talented young designers from all over the world. The thing I love about this site is that you can literally spend hours just browsing and picking out your own, unique items.
Style Outside The Box sells everything, from throw pillows to womens fashion, however my favourite section is the jewellery! You all know by now that I am a complete sucker for unique pieces to spice up my wardrobe, and that's exactly what I've found on SOTB. Not only are the items affordable, but they are great quality and totally unique.
The first piece I want to show you is this gorgeous statement double wrapped braided genuine leather bracelet with medium brass hex nuts. I am a huge fan of layering bracelets with others and a watch, so this is right up my alley! I love the gold hardware and am a sucker for black and gold! This bracelet retails for US$39 (around £25), was designed by Maggie Grace, and can be found here.
The next item is probably my favourite. It's a gorgeous gold diamond themed necklace. If you have seen any of my OOTDs then you will know that this is so me! This hand fabricated brass necklace measures about 2.25 x 1 inch and hangs from a 16 inch chain. This is by Rebekah Vinyard (a particular favourite of mine!) and retails for US$48 (around £31). This necklace can be found here.
The last item I've chosen to show you guys is a breathtaking crochet necklace that will transform any outfit. These ornamental accessories are 100% hand made in Melbourne by Hand Hook Yarn, and come in 10 amazing colours - my personal favourite being the turquoise/aqua! These retail for a slightly pricier US$64 (around £42) but are absolutely gorgeous and of course, totally unique. You can find this here.
So, if you're like me and love to spend hours browsing gorgeous, one-of-a-kind pieces, check out Style Outside The Box. Remember - SOTB also ships internationally!

MUFE Aqua Cream #13
Sunday, July 22, 2012
Hey guys,
So today I'm going to do a quick review on one of my new favourite products, a MUFE Aqua Cream in #13. It is a gorgeous true champagne shade with a high metallic finish. This is not actually the first Aqua Cream I've bought - I also own a gorgeous taupe (number #15 I believe).
Aqua Creams are know for being waterproof - and boy do they live up to that claim. I've been wearing this product ever since I arrived in Hong Kong (it's rainy season here so hot and ridiculously humid), and this bad boy has not let me down once.
The colour is similar to MAC Bare Study Paint Pot, but I definitely prefer this for its staying power.
So whats the verdict?
MY RATING: 5/5
The texture is incredibly creamy, and pair that with its unbeatable staying power and gorgeous colour, this product is an all-round winner for me. Also - did I mention that it has 6g for around £17, which may sound expensive, but I've hardly made a dent and I've been wearing in practically for 4 weeks straight!
