Face of the evening #1
Wednesday, April 2, 2014Over the weekend my friends and I decided to go out for a spot of tapas, and as the weather was a bit miserable, I decided to spruce up my makeup a bit. I haven't done one of these types of post in a while, so let me know what you guys think, and if you'd like it to become a regular type of post!
Anyway, let's get onto the makeup! I started off using my favourite base at the moment - the Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Cream - which is a lightweight colour correcting base that provides just the right amount of coverage. It's just so easy to apply, and it looks like you don't have any makeup on. Next I moved onto my all-time favourite concealer - the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in the shade Chantilly. This stuff is amazing - it has great coverage, yet it never looks cakey. In fact, if my skin is behaving, I will just dab this on any trouble areas and go on my merry way. When it came to blush, it was a no brainer for me. I can't seem to keep my hands off my beloved Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush in Dim Infusion, which as you can see is a subtle coral with a hint of shimmer.
For my eyes, I knew that I wanted to use the Naked 3 Palette, as I've been neglecting it lately. I don't know what it is, but I just can't figure out how to make this work for me. I've never had this problem in the past - all of the Naked palettes have worked so well for me, but there's just something that puzzles me about this. Anyway, I've decided that I had to give it another whirl and I ended up with a nice rose gold/copper contoured eye look. All over the lid, I used the shade 'Dust', and then went in with both 'Liar' and 'Trick' in the crease to add depth. For a touch more definition, I turned to my favourite eyeliner and mascara combo - MAC Stubborn Brown eyeliner and the Bobbi Brown Smokey Eye Mascara (I talk about this more here).
My lips are particularly dry at the moment, so I opted for a balm rather than a lipstick/gloss/stain. I went for the Revlon ColourBurst Balm Stain in Cherish - a gorgeous baby pink that not only nourishes the lips, but gives them a pop of colour that's entirely appropriate for this time of year. So that's it! Again, let me know if you like this sort of post and I'll make it a more regular occurrence!
