Now I'm usually one to do an 'empties' video, but seeing as I'm not really in a filming mood lately, I thought I'd try writing it up into a post instead. Please let me know what you think about this format, and whether you prefer this to a video - if not, I can always go back to my filming ways. Now without further ado, let's get onto the products that have been clogging up my draw for the last month or two...

If you've been following my blog or YT channel for any amount of time, then you'll know that these are my favourite skin wipes of all time. I don't use them every day, but when I want to use a wipe in place of my first cleanser, these are the ones I turn to. They're great for sensitive skin and I've never had a problem with them irritating my eye area. The only downside? They cost a whopping £7, which is frankly ridiculous. Luckily, Boots are always doing the '£5 off skincare' vouchers, so I just bulk buy them then for a much more reasonable £2. Win!

I'm not going to lie, this was a bit weird. The text is super thick, somewhere between regular body wash and jelly! It had quite a nice scent, but nothing special, and it performed like any other body wash. This was probably too small of a sample to see if it's 'toning' properties actually work, but I certainly didn't notice a difference. It was nice enough, but it's not one I'll be popping into my basket anytime soon.

I am literally counting down the days until I can repurchase this - it's just that good. I've been using the Sephora eye makeup remover since I finished this, and it's just made me realise how much I love and miss it! The Sephora version isn't bad per say, but The Body Shop counterpart is non-greasy, more gentle and simply more effective, whereas typical eye makeup removers leave your eyes oily and sometimes stingy. I also find that I don't have to work as hard with The Body Shop version to get off all of that tough waterproof mascara after a long day.

Every time I smell this, I get such a huge rush of nostalgia as this was all I used when as a teenager when I was living in Hong Kong. Back in those days (!!) there wasn't much on offer in terms of body lotion over in Asia, so this was my number one choice. It's a lovely, really moisturising formula that will always be an old favourite of mine. I won't be repurchasing it again in the immediate future as I like to experiment a bit with body products, but it's always a reliable choice to fall back on.

My mother has been a huge fan of Kiehl's for years, but it has never really rubbed off on me. However, when she came to visit me in Madrid recently, we headed to the Kiehl's stand (as usual) and the lovely sales assistant gave me a few generous samples along with my Mum's purchase. So far, this has been the only one I've tried, and it was really, really nice. I was pretty skeptical at first as it's texture is similar to that of conditioner, so the idea of putting it on my freshly washed hair made me wince a bit. Luckily, it didn't weigh my hair down in the slightest (although I think if you have fine hair it would be a different story), and it left my hair feeling super silky and looking shinier than ever. I'm still not convinced enough to part with my money, but I still have another few sachets left so I'll let you know what I decide.

This is actually my second time trying this out, and it's a lovely day cream. It has a gorgeous lavender scent and provides just the right amount of hydration for day time, but I definitely need more moisture in the evening. My problem with this is the price tag - 'aint nobody got time to spend over £40 on a moisturiser! I will gladly accept samples, but I won't personally be buying the full size of this anytime soon, as although it's nice, this wouldn't be my first choice if I were to spend that kind of money on skincare.

As I've already said, the No7 wipes are my favourite, but this is a useful little travel pack which is something that No7 don't offer. I basically bought these to bring with me to Madrid to limit the weight of my luggage (as if face wipes would affect that!), and I've got to say, for me they will always be second best. They're not as gentle and they dry out a hell of a lot quicker due to their somewhat inferior seal, but they are always a good choice for travelling and getting the job done when needed.

As with the Kiehl's hair product, I didn't get a whole lot of use out of this, but don't be fooled - this itty bitty bottle contained more product that you would think. I could really feel the difference when applying this - my moisturiser sinked in a lot faster and it just felt better. Maybe one for the shopping list when I get through the other 600 serums I've got in my collection.

I know - toothpaste - boring right? Well I thought that as I've stored it like a hamster for 2 months, I might as well include it. So.. how does one write a review about toothpaste? It was okay, wasn't a huge fan of the flavour, but I guess I'm just used to that fresh Colgate taste... How did I do?

So, how do you guys feel about the 'Empties' post? Do you prefer it in video form? Let me know in the comment section.

  4. Hmm, unlike you I don't really like trying out brand new stuff - once I find something that suits me I stick to it forever, but maybe changing that habit from time to time would pay off :D A very nice & useful post anyway^^
