Is it just me?
Monday, May 5, 2014In the beauty community, everyone and their mother seem to harp on about how eyelash curlers are such a staple in their beauty regime, and how they simply could not live without them. Well, I seem to be in the incredibly small minority of people who simply cannot understand what everyone seems to get so excited about! I've tried my fair share - I mean, which beauty enthusiast hasn't? - but I just cannot wrap my head around them. MAC, Eyeko, Eyelure, I've tried the lot, with the only exception being the Shu Uemura ones, but you can understand my reluctance to fork out for those when I can't see any of the others I've ever tried actually working. Call me crazy, judge me 'till the cows come home, but I just don't see myself ever really embracing them. Maybe it's because I've got naturally curled lashes - ah, I wish - or maybe I'm just plain lazy, but this is one beauty tool that continues to gather dust, no matter how hard I try to change my ways.
Are there any beauty tools that you just don't 'get'? I'd love to hear your stories!
Nope it's not just you - i don't get it either! xx

Same here! I have an eyelash curler but barely use it, I really don't see the point.
ReplyDeleteI'm the exact same - I just don't understand the appeal/point really!

Loved reading this because I thought "wow Im not the only one" curling my lashes doesn't make any difference.
ReplyDeleteI have extremely straight lashes so curling mine makes the world of difference, I never wear mascara without curling them! :)

Curling my lashes makes such a difference otherwise they are completely straight! aha

My eyelashes are not long enough for lash curlers and to be honest the look of the contraptions scare the hell outta me, so I deffo will never subscribe to the whole lash curling craze. No sir :/
ReplyDeleteI'm having a giveaway on my blog tomorrow, if you'd like to enter, keep an eye out for my blog post tomorrow.

It might not be just you, but I definitely use them! I'm Asian and have short, very straight lashes. It's almost pointless putting mascara on without curling them first.
ReplyDeleteI am totally not into eyelash curlers. I have long, dense lashes and I just don't see the use for them. I know everyone raves about how AMAZING they are.. but honestly, it's another step in the morning routine that I can do without.
ReplyDeletei never curl my eyelashes, if i'm honest i just cant be bothered! xx

my lashes grow straight and flat, so it's an essential for me. makes a difference in opening up my hooded lids :)
ReplyDeleteI completely agree. I think my eyes are the wrong shape for them or something, because they make my lashes bend/curl in a really odd way in the outer corners.. Plus they feel so weird afterwards.
ReplyDeleteI used to think the same - they never worked for me! However using them on my sister (one set of eyelashes are curled, the others aren't and you can see the difference) I can see that they do work. So maybe you just have already curly lashes?! x

I am with you. I don't see a huge difference when using them so I just get lazy & don't think its worth the extra step. lol

I don't use lash stuff in general because I wear glasses and I hate the feeling of my lashes hitting against the lenses haha
ReplyDeleteAh I'm in the stick straight, downward pointing eyelashes club so my curlers are a prized possession. The curlers do a lot but my lashes won't stay that way without some really good mascara anyway.

Good, so not just me then :) x

ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear it's not just me! x
ReplyDeletehaha same! x
ReplyDeleteI'm glad they work for you lovely x
ReplyDeleteHaha, well I'm glad they work better on you than me then! x
ReplyDeleteI'm glad they work for you :) x
ReplyDeleteYeah, I think I have the same problem - my lashes are useless anyway so trying to curl them doesn't make enough of a difference to do all the time x
ReplyDeleteIndeed, the longer I can stay under my duvet, the better! x
ReplyDeleteSame here lol! x
ReplyDeleteGlad they do a better job for you than me! x
ReplyDeleteHrm, strange! Maybe the smaller ones that only curl like a third of your lashes at a time might work better for you? x
ReplyDeleteHa, I think it's more likely that I'm just lazy and don't see enough of a difference to change my ways! x
ReplyDeleteAh, no one needs an extra step when all you want to do is sleep! x
ReplyDeleteAh ok, interesting. I know what you mean though! x
ReplyDeleteGlad you get some use out of them :) x
ReplyDeleteI bought one for like 80 cents at a discount shop, and it works quite well, although I wouldn't use it every day. Doesn't make too much of a difference with me!
ReplyDeleteI never use them, guess they just don't work with my lashes x
