Kung hei fat choi, Gōng xǐ fā cái, and Happy Chinese New Year to you all!

Having grown up in Hong Kong, CNY has always been a hugely celebrated and enjoyed holiday for me - from Lai See packets, grand feasts and oranges galore, this time of year is a huge event in my home town (2.0)! I'll keep this short because I know most of you probably don't celebrate CNY, but if you do, I hope the Year of the Goat brings you good luck, health and fortune.

Xin nian kuai le!

新年快乐

  2. Hehe 新年快乐! In Australia, we don't have major celebrations but back home, it's a party! Kinda sad there's no atmosphere here :(

  3. 新年快乐! We're eating rice cake tonight, and I'm getting a red pocket from my parents but that's pretty much it, haha!

  4. Whoops, I was convinced it was the year of the sheep! Does the year of the sheep even exist? There aren't massive celebrations where I live, but all this China talk is making me even more excited to go to Beijing and Ji Lin in May...

  5. Happy New Year, Isobel! It must be really interesting growing up in such a different culture. Do you have posts about it? If you have, tell me! Would love to read them. And if you don't, maybe it's an idea for the future. :)
