Having dry skin, you wouldn't think that I would ever need to use a face powder. Well, growing up in a hot, humid country like Hong Kong, even the driest of skin needed to be powdered if you wanted any makeup to be left by the end of the day. So, over the years I have tried many a face powder, the good, the bad, and the absolutely terrible. Many years on, I've found the perfect trio to kit you out for any occasion, and I'm going to share them with you today. 

THE 'FULL-COVERAGE' FACE:

I started using the Maybelline Fit Me Powder when, one day, I walked into Boots to repurchase my go-to powder - the Maybelline Dream Matte Powder - and it was no where to be seen. I admit, I was slightly devastated and somewhat unsure as to where to turn to next. I decide to keep my faith in Maybelline powders and went for its newest offering - the FIT ME Powder. it didn't turn out to be an exact replacement, but it certainly has it's own merits. It mattifies the face, whilst adding a nice level of coverage - but nothing too overwhelming. This is the powder I turn to when my skin is acting up, and coverage is my highest priority. 

THE 'FOOL-PROOF FACE': Nothing, and I mean nothing, keeps makeup in place like the Make Up For Ever HD Powder. This was - and still is - my go to summer powder. The MUFE powder is translucent - meaning that it is completely invisible on the skin, and doesn't provide any extra coverage. It sets your makeup in place and, boy does it stay there until you decide to take it off. It does however completely mattify your face, which is why I don't generally use it everyday (I'm loving the dewy look at the moment) - but if you suffer from oiler skin than mine or simply love a matte look, then this is definitely one to try.

THE 'EVERYDAY-GLOWY' FACE:

Now I'm not going to ramble on about the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in 'Diffused Light' for too long, and it's already got a post dedicated to it here, but I'll just give you a little summary. This powder is a complete game changer - and every penny worth its £38 price tag. It sets your makeup in place - but doesn't mattify it - in fact it does the exact opposite. It blurs any imperfections whilst adding a nice glow to your complexion, making it my go to powder for everyday use.
