If you have dry/curly hair, you'll know that although you don't have to wash your hair that often, you can have days when your hair is neither flat nor voluminous - just a bit meh. I typically wash my hair every 4-5 days (that's all my hair needs I promise!) and this hairstyle has become one of my favourite ways to jazz up my hair on days 3-4. Best thing about it? It's super simple and looks stunning. So, let's get started!

Step 1: Part your hair - this is totally up to you. I generally like to part mine to the side, but it's all personal preference.

Step 2: Take a section from the front of your hair, braid it and use a bobby pin to secure it to the back of your head. Make sure to pull it backwards whilst braiding so that it sits on your head when you pin it down.

Step 3: Repeat on the other side of your head! If you have parted your hair on the side, I like to use less hair on the part of my head where the parting is as there is less hair there to use and this makes it look more balanced.

Step 4: Keep your hair down, or if you want to go for a more casual look, secure it into a low, loose bun. If you need to, spritz a bit of hair spray to keep everything in place, and ta-dah! You're done.

I find this just adds that bit of interest to my hair when it's feeling a bit lack-lustre, and in fact, I think it actually looks better when my hair is a bit dirtier. It's perfect for uni/school as it's really casual but also very pretty. What tricks do you have for when your hair is a bit worse for wear? Let me know in the comments!

  1. I love the way that braids look on blonde hair, this looks fab! I have dark hair and you don't get the same definition when braiding - I will be giving this a go though as it's such a simple style but looks great! xx

  8. I really need to learn how to do more things with my hair. I'm so boring with it, and I hate washing it. Braids seem like an idea :)

  13. This is lovely! I never spend much time doing my hair and with so many layers, I always struggle to braid my hair. Hopefully when I grow my hair out a little more, I'll be able to do more braids. xx
