Just as we have recovered from those nasty, winter-long colds, the sniffles return to remind us that Spring has arrived. If you don't suffer from hay fever, then you're one lucky duck, as the rest of us never seem to get a break from the coughing and sneezing that seems to be year-long. I, for one, suffer terribly from hay fever - I actually dread the arrival of warmer weather and blooming flowers and I know that it can only mean one thing - the beginning of a few months of constant misery. I know that I probably sound a tad dramatic, but trust me - I seem to be allergic to everything and anything and I hate it!! Luckily, there's always a silver lining - and this time it's you lot benefiting from all the knowledge I have acquired to help make the summers that bit more bearable. So, without further ado, here are a few bits and bobs that should provide you with a bit of relief this season;

Origins No Puffery Eye Roll-On:
If you suffer from itchy, puffy eyes like I do, then nothing is going to get rid of them, but this might just provide a bit of relief. This super cooling eye gel helps to de-puff your eyes and just generally make them feel a bit more comfortable, and paired with a decent bottle of eye drops, should keep any major annoyance at bay.

Avene Eau Thermale:
When you're all hot and bothered, there's nothing quite like a quick spritz of cool water on your face. Okay, I know, that sounds a bit weird - but it's honestly so refreshing and will help you cool down when all you can think about is scratching off your own face. There's also the added bonus that this stuff is supposed to be pretty good for your skin, so win-win!

Mint gum/mints:
For me, strong mints are the only things that keep me from going insane when I have an itchy mouth/throat - which is always - hence why I always have a pack of gum about my person at all times. The strong menthol flavour will also help to clear out your sinuses helping you to breath a bit easier, all whilst providing you minty fresh breath! You're welcome.

Origins Piece of Mind:
The final product acts in the same way as strong mints do - to help clear out your sinuses. This lovely smelly stuff from Origins is designed to help relieve stress with it's strong, relaxing scent (made up mainly of menthol), but it also does a hell of a job at decongesting your sinuses. So, not only will you be able to breathe through your nose for the first time in a month, but you will also hopefully be extremely relaxed whilst doing so.

Let me know if you guys have any other tips for beating hay fever - I'm still suffering over here!

  4. Bookmarking this! My hayfever hit a couple weeks ago and I've woken up with itchy eyes everyday, so I'll definitely be looking into the origins roll on.

  5. I normally take the anti allergy tablets, but obviously they do make you rather tired, not ideal! Never tried the mint trick though, I'll be adding that to my list!
