I have a bit of a thing for dark, vampy lips - it's hardly a secret. Over the years, my collection has grown quite a bit and now I have quite the smorgasbord of tones and finishes to choose from when the darker days arrive. So, without further ado, here's a guide to the darker lipsticks I own to help you pick out your next purchase!

A berry-wine colour, and as the name suggests, matte. Perhaps better for those who are not yet comfortable with a darker lip but want to try it out.

This is perhaps my favourite formula of lipstick around - the applicator makes creating a sharp line super easy, the colour is still quite easy to wear and the wear time is incredible.

'Sloe Gin' is definitely the pinkest of the lot - it's a lovely raspberry colour with a super glossy finish. I find this one a bit fiddly to apply, but if you put the time in then the final result is stunning.

I believe that this is the first ever 'darker' lip colour that I bought, and for good reason. The formula is gorgeous and creamy, the colour is dark but not too daring and it's not only affordable but also incredibly easy to get your hands on. A great vampy colour to start with.

This is where it starts to get a bit more intense, but boy do I love this shade. You can wear it lightly as a berry stain (like I did here), or full on as a much vampier lip - it's velvet texture makes for a matte look with a bit more dimension, and it lasts really well without drying out your lips.

'Beguiled' is a nice middle ground between 'Rebel' and 'Diva', and is a nice, cheaper alternative to both. I probably wouldn't' have bought this on its own as it is so similar to 'Rebel', but I after getting it as part of a Christmas gift set from Topshop, it's still a well loved member of my dark-lip collection.

As the darkest colour I own, I find this quite hard to wear with my pale complexion - but when I do - it's really awesome. I'm glad I had the chance to review this because it probably wouldn't be something I would buy myself, but it's a lot of fun to use, but requires a bit of courage!
