As you're reading this post, I am basking in the sun and spending my day sightseeing down in the south of Spain - jealous? One of my best friends, Grace, is spending her year abroad down in the lovely city of Sevilla teaching English, so a friend and I have popping down for the weekend to visit her and see the city for ourselves. On Friday I had to wake up at an ungodly hour to catch our 7.30am train, and 2 and a half hours later, the train was pulling into the incredible city of Seville. I will have a more culture related post up on my travel blog, so here I'm going to let you guys take a peek into my weekend makeup bag.

I know, I know, this seems like an awfuuulll lot of products for two days (though I might take a few bits out before my packing is finalised), but you know me, I like to switch things up. So, let's start with the essentials. For my base I've brought my standard face combo, the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer, my Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder, and my current foundation of choice, the Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation. I've also brought the amazing Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Flush, as well as the MAC Fortified Skin Enhancer, mainly because it has SPF 35, but also because I want to try it out. As for eyes, the NARS And God Created The Woman palette is here because it covers all bases, the Bourjois Colour Edition 24hr cream eyeshadow in Pétale de Glace as a base, my usual Stubborn Brown Eyeliner from MAC, the Smokey Eye Mascara from Bobbi Brown and Gimme Brow from Benefit. To jazz things up in the evening, I have also brought my Dolly Wink liquid eyeliner and a gorgeous bronze Laura Mercier eyeshadow in Fire Glow. For the lips, I've got both a neutral and a bold alternative, the Maybelline Colour Sensational Lipgloss in Pink Shock, and the gorgeous Bourjois Rouge Edition in Hot Pepper. Last but certainly not least, a Travalo which contains a lovely Spring perfume - Daisy by Marc Jacobs

When it comes to brushes, I'm going fairly simple - well for me, at least! A spoolie for my brows, a few eye brushes (Real Techniques Duo Fibre Eye Brush, MAC 222, MAC 239 and a MAC 217) a RT Contour Brush for my concealer, the RT Buffing Brush for my foundation, the RT Duo Fibre Face Brush for my powder, and a Tarte Blush Brush for, you guessed it, my blush.

Finally we have skincare, and trust me when I say that I only have the bare essentials with me! Deodorant is a giveaway, and I am really enjoying this cotton fresh one by Sure. Next we have moisturisers; one for day and night - The Body Shop Vitamin E Intensive Moisture Cream and the Origins High Potency Night-a-Mins. As far as cleansing goes, I have samples of both Bioderma and The Body Shop Vitamin E Cream Cleanser to keep my skin squeaky clean, and then the Nuxe Reve de Miel lip balm to keep my pout in good shape. Finally I've got a sample of the Laura Mercier Fig Body Butter to keep my skin hydrated, and the Aveda Dry Remedy Hair Oil to keep my mane tamed.

So that's it! Like I said, I know it seems a lot but it isn't really. I've cut back on the skincare a lot, and only have a few makeup extras on top of my essentials - but a girl's got to look good when there are lots of photos to be taken!

  4. I often take my Naked 2 palette when I travel, just because it saves taking lots of little pots of eyeshadows! Just going to analyse the photo and add to my wishlist ;-)

  9. That NARS palette is stunning and the Dolly Wink eyeliner is amazing! When I finally found a shop that sold Dolly Wink eyeliner (as well as a lot of other Korean and Japanese makeup brands!) I literally freaked out haha. :) I usually bring my Naked Basics Palette, NARS Exhibit A, Maybelline Concealer, Tony Moly Gel Liner, and a liner and blush brush.
