*I know that today is 'What I've Been Loving...' day, but university has dropped us right in at the deep end so I haven't had a spare second to even take a photo for the post. So instead I have bumped up a pre-scheduled post for you today so I don't leave you hanging any longer. I promise I'll be back to normal as soon as I can!

Not long ago I was asked what product I use on my hair, so I thought I would do a quick post on what I consider to be my 'shower essentials'. So, I headed off to my beloved shower to reveal to you all what I've got stashed away in the darkest corner of my bathroom...

Shampoo & Conditioner: Herbal Essences 'Hello Hydration' Shampoo and Conditioner, Head & Shoulders Extra Volume Anti-Dandruff Shampoo
Years of trial and error have always lead me back to my beloved Herbal Essences, with my favourite 'flavour' being Hello Hydration! To be honest, all of them work nicely but my hair is quite dry so I like to give it that extra boost of moisture to keep it manageable. The reason I always come back to this line is simple - nothing else that I have ever tried leaves my hair as soft and manageable as Herbal Essences does - not to mention that they smell divine and are incredibly purse-friendly. Some may not get along with the brand, but it's always been my back-up plan when nothing else can do the job, and for that I simply adore it. In addition to my basic shampoo and conditioner, I like to keep a bottle of Head & Shoulders around because with my dry skin, I'm quite susceptible to the odd bit of dandruff in the winter months, and that certainly isn't a good look. I tend to use this once a week to keep and flakiness at bay, or every wash for a week or two is things aren't looking any better.

Shower Gel: Rituals Summer Bliss Soothing Shower Oil
I'm not particularly loyal to any shower gel but I am really enjoying this shower oil from Rituals at the moment. It smells heavenly, and it's really lovely and moisturising on my drier skin. It's also really nice to use to shave my underarms as the oil allows for a really close shave, helps to keep my skin moisturised and gets two jobs done at once!

Scrubs: Origins Modern Friction Facial Exfoliator, Soap & Glory Sugar Crush Body Scrub
The Origins scrub is the perfect manual exfoliator for my skin - not too harsh but abrasive enough - so I keep this in the shower to use once or twice a week. Then for my body, I love the 'Sugar Crush' scent from Soap & Glory and the body scrub is no exception. It's a lovely scrub that again, like the Origins, has the perfect 'level' of exfoliation for my slightly sensitive and dry skin. The other scrubs from S&G are nice too, but this scent is definitely my favourite!

Extras: Gilette Venus Razor and Hair Clip
When it comes to extras, these are the standard two that I like to have in my shower. Razors are ridiculously expensive so I tend to keep things simple with a standard Venus model as (TMI!) I only really use it for my underarms as my dry legs react a lot better to Veet (another staple that I have run out of). Then I always like to have a hair clip lying around, as although I don't do it often, I like to use it to pin up my hair when I use a hair mask or want to leave my conditioner on for longer without it getting in the way.

Once I'm out of the shower I continue with my skincare routine (which differs depending on the time of day) and always, always spritz my hair with the amazing Dove Nourishing Oil Care Conditioning Spray and let it dry naturally - voila!

  2. The Rituals shower oil sounds so lovely! I really want to try a shower oil/body oil in general, they sound so luxurious and nourishing. I just recently got my hands on the S&G Breakfast Scrub and I loooove the scent, but the texture is so nice! I really like the Sugar Crush scent too!
