I'm not one to be a sheep - some part of me has always resisted following trends for the fear of being lost in the crowd, but occasionally a trend comes along that I find too hard to fight off and I find myself fully embracing it like everyone else. My most recent lapse has come in the form of the neutral lip, which was a huge trend in the 90's, and has recently been repopularised by the youngest Jenner sister. Although I'm not queueing up to plump up my lips any time soon, I've been loving wearing a neutral lip - something I'd never really done before. I've always been a 'go bold or go home' kinda girl when it came to my pout, only owning bright fuschias and classic reds, but embracing this trend has led me to some shade discoveries that I've fallen head over heals for. The shade most associated with Miss Jenner, and perhaps the hardest of them to pull off, is MAC Mehr, a matte neutral pink. I love Mehr, but due to its matte and slightly drying texture I find it hard to wear every day so I decided to try out something slightly more subtle and came across MAC Brave, a more wearable dusty rose colour. As well as adding new shades to my collection, I've also rediscovered my one and only Chanel lipstick, which is the Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet in L'Amoureuse, a slightly darker and more berry toned shade which I actually wore to my graduation. It's fair to say that this trend has stolen my heart (as well as a fair bit of my money) and I'm just glad that I can wear lipsticks more often without feeling the need to make them the centre of attention.

Are you a big fan of the neutral lipstick trend? What are your favourite shades? Let me know!
